MANILA, PHILIPPINES, JANUARY 26, 2021 For its second year of participating at the Berlinale Co-Production Market of the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has opened the call for applications for the Online Visitors Programme 2021.

The national film agency will select five official participants. Filipino producers with projects in development who wish to pursue an international co-production are highly encouraged to submit the following to projectlab@fdcp.ph (with the subject “APPLICATION: Berlinale Visitors Programme”) on or before February 1, 2021:

  • Projects dossier
  • Cover letter on why you want to participate in the Online Visitors Programme

The Online Visitors Programme from February 28 to March 5 will hold informative sessions, inspiring pitches, and productive networking platforms to help beginners get insight into the international co-production landscape.

Participants in the Online Visitors Programme 2021 will be given exclusive access to the Visitors Meet & Match, Talks, Visitors Consultation Corner, Case Studies, Theme Talks, Speed Matchings, Books at Berlinale, and Country Sessions.

The Philippines will have a Country Session wherein the FDCP will share its current FilmPhilippines incentive programs: the Film Location Incentive Program (FLIP) for international productions filming in the Philippines, International Co-production Fund (ICOF) for foreign productions co-producing with the Philippines, and ASEAN Co-Production Fund (ACOF) for Southeast Asian productions co-producing with the Philippines with a director of Southeast Asian nationality.

The creative and professional atmosphere of the Visitors Programme is ensured by the Berlinale Co-Production Market, the Berlinale’s service and networking platform for producers and financiers involved in international co-productions. It offers a central meeting place, information program, pre-selected projects, reliable business contacts, and numerous networking opportunities.

The 18th Berlinale Co-Production Market will be held from March 1 to 5 while the 71st Berlinale will have two stages: an industry online offer in March and a public event in June.
