MANILA, PHILIPPINES, MARCH 16, 2021 — The Philippines and the Province of Córdoba in Argentina are joining forces to encourage cooperation between their film and audiovisual industries through the virtual Córdoba-Philippines Film & TV Production Industry Roundtable and Networking Event from March 17 to 18.

Organized by the Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Mexico, and Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) together with Córdoba’s export promotion agency, ProCórdoba Agency, the inaugural event aims to discover cultural familiarity and diversity, bring about mutual appreciation of stories, and forge collaborations among Filipino and Córdoba companies.

The Filipino contingent, headed by the DTI and FDCP, is composed of 26 film and audiovisual companies, including ABS-CBN Corporation, Betsy D. Film Productions, BlackOps Studios Asia, Inc., Center Stage Productions, Philippine Film Studios, Inc., Project 8 Projects, Spring Films, Inc., Viva Communications, Inc., Epicmedia Productions, Inc., UxS, Inc., The IdeaFirst Company, GMA Network / GMA Films, and Solar Entertainment.

Also joining the event are Cignal TV, Star Cinema Productions / Blacksheep, Globe Studios, APT Entertainment, Regal Entertainment, Ten17P, Reality Entertainment, MAXV Productions, Inc., M-ZET TV Productions, Inc., TBA / Artikulo Uno, BG Productions International, Inc., T-REX Entertainment Productions, Inc., and Daluyong Studios.

“Since 2018, the DTI and FDCP have been working together in international trade missions to champion our local content and talents to further globalize the Filipino film and audiovisual industry,” said FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza Diño.

“The Córdoba-Philippines Film & TV Production Industry Roundtable and Networking is another platform to showcase Filipino artistry to the world, and we are grateful to the ProCórdoba Agency for sharing our vision of building more relationships between the Filipino and Argentine audiovisual industries,” she added.

On March 17, the ProCórdoba x FDCP Film and TV Networking Forum will take place to introduce the organizers and participants from Argentina and the Philippines.

The FDCP will be at the helm of the Contenido Filipinas (Contents Philippines) audiovisual presentation that highlights the 26 participating Filipino companies as well as the Filipino-Latin American ties over the years.

The following day will be dedicated to networking sessions wherein Filipino participants can discuss partnerships, explore co-production and distribution possibilities, and set business-to-business (B2B) meetings with representatives of the 18 participating Argentine companies.

The Córdoba-Philippines partnership began in 2020, when ProCórdoba Agency organized the “Business Opportunities with Southeast Asia.” This featured a series of six chapters developed in online meetings focusing on the markets of the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

“Among the sectors addressed, the Philippine audiovisual industry market aroused special interest. From the Philippines chapter of the cycle up to now, different instances of mutual dialogue have been developed,” explained the ProCórdoba Agency as to how the 2021 Córdoba-Philippines roundtable and networking event came to be.

The 2021 Córdoba-Philippines Film & TV Production Industry Roundtable and Networking, which is supported by Córdoba Filma, Córdoba Audiovisual Center, and Córdoba Culture Agency, is also in collaboration with the Córdoba Chamber of Audiovisual Production Companies.
