FDCP Statement on the Passing of Media Luminary Ricky Lo

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) mourns the demise of entertainment media stalwart Ricardo "Ricky" Lo, who passed away on May 4, 2021 at the age of 75.

Lo was a long-time entertainment editor and columnist for The Philippine Star. For his remarkable journalism career spanning more than five decades, Lo was hailed by the FDCP as a Sine Sandaan Luminary.

“Philippine entertainment is mourning over the loss of news media luminary Ricky Lo, who was instrumental in propelling Filipino showbiz news to the forefront with his interviews, reports, and exclusives. We will always be grateful for his efforts, support, and encouragement for Philippine Cinema and the rest of the entertainment industry,” said FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza Diño.

Aside from being an editor and journalist, Lo was a television host, newspaper reporter, and author of books such as "Conversations with Ricky Lo."

The FDCP extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones of Mr. Ricky Lo.
