MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 10, 2022 —The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) supports the 3rd Philippine Film Festival in Italy (Festival del Cinema Filippino in Italia) to be hosted by the Philippine Embassy in Rome and Sentro Rizal Rome happening this September 10-11, 2022.

Through FDCP’s Philippine Embassies Assistance Program (PEAP), the festival will be showing five Filipino films with the aim of promoting cultural understanding and stronger people-to-people ties between the Philippines and Italy, especially in the coinciding celebration of the 75th year of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Italy that goes with the theme: “Philippines-Italy: Rising Together,” and the 2nd Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM) festivities throughout the month of September.

The festival will be offering a two-day public screening of three Filipino feature films and two short films at Casa Del Cinema in Villa Borghese, Rome. The three full-length films for screening includes alumni of the Italian film festival Far East Film Festival in Udine 2021, Rainbow’s Sunset by Joel Lamangan and A is for Agustin by Grace Simbulan. PPP 2019 award-winner LSS (Last Song Syndrome) by Jade Castro completes the feature film slate. Sundance Film Festival 2022 Short Film Grand Jury Prize winner The Headhunter’s Daughter by Don Josephus Raphael Eblahan,  and Audience Choice awardee of the 2019 QCinema International Film Festival Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss by Sonny Calvento, will be part of the screenings as well.

A brief program with the diplomatic corps and selected guests will officially open the festival through a special screening of Grace Simbulan’s A is for Agustin. The public screenings will be open for walk-in guests with the following screening schedule at Casa Del Cinema:
