‘Safe filming’ amid the Covid surge

Just as more film productions have resumed operations and cinemas have been given the go-signal to operate at limited capacities, we are faced with another hurdle due to the recent surge of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases and the presence of new virus variants in the country.

SOUTHERN VOICES FILM LAB

The Southern Voices Lab (SoVo Lab) aims to discover indigenous stories and empower the voices of the filmmakers from Mindanao which is in the Southern region of the Philippines.

In 2019, SoVo Lab selected seven (7) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-time filmmakers with film projects in an advanced stage of development to work with international and local mentors and consultants to develop and refine their screenplays. Each project received a P100,000.00 development fund to produce their pitch trailer for the final pitch showcase.

FDCP Supports DTI, DOLE & DOH for Joint Administrative Order No. 2021-001 on Safe Filming Protocols for Production Activities

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, FEBRUARY 3, 2021 — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Department of Health (DOH) have issued Joint Administrative Order No. 2021-001 (JAO) on Health and Safety Protocols for the Conduct of Film and Audiovisual Production Shoots and Audiovisual Activities During COVID-19 Pandemic.

INTERNATIONAL FILM STUDIES ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (IFSAP)

The International Film Studies Assistance Program (IFSAP) is a program of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) that supports Filipino filmmakers who want to be more exposed to the best filmmaking practices of other countries. A program for Filipino talents who make waves internationally. FDCP believes in the importance of collaboration, hence encourages more Filipino filmmakers to discover various opportunities by participating in international film study programs, labs, and workshops.
