FDCP Highlights Asian Film Industry in Philippine Cinema Night and Screen Talk at Busan International Film Festival

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, NOVEMBER 9, 2020 — The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) brought to the forefront not only the Filipino film industry but Asian Cinema as well in two key events held during the 25th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in South Korea.

Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 4 Releases Festival Calendar and Events Guide

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 31, 2020  —  As the 4th Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) opens today with the Short Film Showcase with free access to all subscribers to 80 short films featuring the 12 finalists of the CineMarya Women’s Short Film Festival Premiere, 63 titles from 21 regional film festivals, and five Sine Kabataan shorts together with the free Special Screening of “Anak Dalita” by National Artist for Theater and Film Lamberto V. Avellana, PPP has also released its full festival calendar for its lineup of the Main Feature Film Showcase from November 20 to December 13, 2020.

In this year’s online edition of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), there are 13 films in the PPP Premium Selection. The Premium films are titles that have never been released to audiences in the Philippines or only had a limited release in the country.

FDCP Launches Its Cinematheque In Compostela Valley

It was in 2016 when then newly-appointed FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza Diño of Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) attended the Nabunturan Independent Film Exhibition (NABIFILMEX) and met with the community's filmmakers which led to the planning and construction of the first Cinematheque in Compostela Valley.

FDCP and NHCP Award Sinesaysay Bagong Sibol Winners

After a series of intensive documentary film labs, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) announced the SineSaysay Bagong Sibol winners at the Cinematheque Centre Manila last November 30, 2018. The Bagong Sibol Documentary Film Lab is a program geared towards emerging documentary filmmakers and focuses on telling authentic and significant stories of Filipinos and our country.
