Mabuhay Bollywood: An Indian Film Festival

To commemorate the 70 years of India-Philippines diplomatic relations, the Embassy of India, Manila, in partnership with Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and Red Carpet Cinema, Shangri-la Plaza, organized a press screening of “Mabuhay Bollywood”, an Indian Film Festival, last August 13, 2019 at the Premiere Theatre, Level 6, Red Carpet, Shangri-la Plaza.

FDCP Leads Philippines as Country of Focus for Busan International Film Festival 2018

In recognition and celebration of the One Hundred Years of Philippine Cinema, the Philippines has been announced as the Country of Focus of the 23rd BUSAN International Film Festival. As part of the official announcement by the organizers, Philippine Cinema will be highlighted in a number of activities and events during the Festival whose delegation will be headed by the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

Philippines is Country of Focus at Fukuoka International Film Fest 2018

With a partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines, the Focus on Asia Fukuoka International Film Festival joins and celebrates Philippine Cinema for its One Hundred Years by highlighting a Special Feature on Filipino Films for its 2018 edition. Considered as a Country of Focus celebration, the Agency will lead the delegation of Filipino filmmakers, artists, and academicians this September in Fukuoka, Japan.

PH Film ‘Verdict’ to Premiere in Toronto Int’l Film Festival

Following its announcement as competition film under the Horizons (Orizzonti) section at the 76th Venice Film Festival, crime drama feature “Verdict” by Raymund Ribay Gutierrez continues to make rounds in international film festivals as it will have its Canadian premiere at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this September 5 to 15, 2019 in Toronto. It is the only Filipino feature film selected at this year’s TIFF.

New York Asian Film Festival 2018 Features Fresh Breed of Filipino Films

This year, an incredible lineup of six Filipino films will be screened competing in the 2018 edition of the New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) beginning on June 29, 2018. This is double the number of competing Filipino features last year.

FIVE FILIPINO FILMS FEATURED IN 21ST SHANGHAI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Five (5) Filipino films will be competing and screening at the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) in China starting June 16, 2018. SIFF is one of the largest film festivals in Asia and has prominently featured Filipino films in the past, with last year’s top prize, Golden Goblet, awarded to Pauwi Na by Paolo Villaluna.

Philippine Cinema shines in Singapore Media Festival

The Philippines made waves onscreen and offscreen at the Singapore Media Festival (SMF) which hosted major events such as the 30th Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) and ScreenSingapore. Two Filipino films were part of this year’s SGIFF lineup: “Verdict” (2019) by Raymund Ribay Gutierrez and “Maicling pelicula nañg ysañg Indio Nacional” (2005) by Raya Martin. “Verdict” bagged the Best Performance Award for the late actor Kristofer King at the Silver Screen Awards.
